What We’re Asking For
Parents for Pierce respectfully requests that Cedar Rapids Community School District decision-making related to Pierce Elementary be transparent, data-informed, and inclusive of meaningful community input.
Three Requests
- Fully evaluate and publicly present viable alternatives to closing Pierce Elementary.
- Publish comparative cost and impact analyses for each option.
- Provide an opportunity for community feedback after alternatives are presented and before any final decision.
What “Meaningful Input” Means
- Alternatives are shared publicly in a clear, readable format.
- Key assumptions and data sources are included.
- Community has time to review before decisions are finalized.
- Public feedback is invited and considered before board action.
