About Parents for Pierce
Parents for Pierce is a parent-led community coalition of Cedar Rapids Community School District families and residents.
Purpose
Our purpose is to support Pierce Elementary by advancing viable, cost-conscious alternatives to school closure and ensuring that community input meaningfully informs district decision-making.
Guiding Principles
- Student-Centered: Decisions should prioritize student stability, safety, and educational outcomes.
- Data-Informed: Advocacy will be grounded in verifiable data and district-relevant comparisons.
- Community-Engaged: Families and neighborhood stakeholders deserve meaningful input before irreversible decisions.
- Fiscal Responsibility: Long-term costs and unintended consequences must be fully evaluated.

Parents for Pierce is not a political organization, is not affiliated with any candidate or party, and is not opposed to fiscal accountability or district-wide planning.
